Transportation Appeal Process

|
|

In cases where a parent or guardian disagrees with the way in the Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium has applied policies and procedures it is possible to appeal a decision.  Throughout the process RCJTC staff will prepare explanations to support their decisions, based on the policies and procedures of the RCJTC.

Please see the below table that details the Appeal Process:

 Level 1: General Query/Request

(1-5 school days)

  •  Response from Transportation Router within 1-5 school days

Level 2: Appeal to Transportation Supervisor

(5-15 school days)

  •  Upon receipt of a written request for an appeal to the Transportation Supervisor a decision will be made within 5-15 school days

Level 3: Appeal to the General Manager

(15-30 school days)

Level 4: Appeal to Transportation Administrative Committee

(30-60 school days)

*Please note that no appeals will be processed from the last week in August to the third week of October because of RCJTC's requirement to focus on working with schools and parents to assign students to transportation.

Should you wish to submit an appeal, please complete the Transportation Appeal Process Form.

For additional information concerning the appeal process please refer to the External Appeal Process Flowchart.
