History
The Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium (RCJTC) is a not-for-profit organization set up between the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB) and the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) to provide safe, cost effective, and on-time delivery of transportation services for the students in Renfrew County.
The RCDSB and the RCCDSB have a long history of sharing transportation services with the two school boards first having established a joint transportation policy back in 1989. The RCJTC was officially established in 2006 as an independent not-for-profit organization with membership including both participating school boards. The RCJTC oversees all home-to-school transportation services for partner school boards, including regular transportation, small vehicle transportation (i.e. taxis, mini-buses, etc.) and specialized transportation.
The geographic area covered by the RCJTC is predominately rural with a few urban areas. The service area stretches from Deux Rivières in the north to the Town of Arnprior in the south as well as from the Township of Whitewater Region in the east to the Townships of Madawaska Valley and South Algonquin in the west respectively.
