Finding Out About Delay and Cancellations
This news post outlines how bus delays and cancellations are communicated to families and how families can sign up to get push notifications to your mobile device from the BusPlanner Delays app for all transportation delays and cancellations.
Bus Delays and Cancellations
Bus delays outside of the on-time window (10 minutes on either side of a child's scheduled bus time) are communicated by the bus driver to their dispatcher who advises the RCJTC Team. Our team will then send a delay notification which is sent by email to all parents who have signed up for the RCJTC Parent Portal and through push notifications in the BusPlanner Delays mobile application.
School bus transportation may be cancelled for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, inclement weather, road conditions, driver shortages, and mechanical issues. All cancellations are communicated by the RCJTC Team through the RCJTC Parent Portal and BusPlanner Delays app.
To download the BusPlanner Delays app, you can access it through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store depending on your device type. A short step-by-step guide has been developed to help guide families through the process.

Road conditions across the District can be markedly different and we are continually challenged to communicate which bus routes may be impacted by inclement weather in a timely manner.
